According to TripAdvisor, the region that places tourists in the heart of nature delivers the best travel experiences worldwide, surpassing 9 other nations.

The World Economic Forum (weforum.org) listed Costa Rica as the world’s second-best destination for nature tourism. Thanks to the wide distribution of hotels and services related to tourism, tourists who visit us have many options to choose from in our country. Among the activities offered at Canatur are the canopy, rafting, hiking, diving, and these are complemented by cultural elements and authentic experiences”, said Shirley Calvo, executive director.
Users of TripAdvisor mentioned rafting on the Piedras Blancas River in La Fortuna, sloth-watching walks, and walking through Monteverde, as their most favorite activities.
A study conducted by this online travel agency, whose data came directly from rating and review data from travelers, found Costa Rica, famous for its rainforests, volcanoes, and beaches, to be the world’s top travel destination: La Fortuna de San Carlos.

According to TripAdvisor, “Costa Rica ranked first in both categories of country and destination in the world”, with activities such as hiking volcanoes and spotting sloth bears highlighted as the top travel experiences in Costa Rica.
For foreigners, the most appreciated activities in the Lost Canyon were rafting on the Peñas Blancas River, guided sloth walks, and canyoning on the Lost Canyon. These activities received a rating of 4.8, out of a possible 5.
In addition to La Fortuna, Arenal – a 30-square-kilometer area surrounding the volcano – offers 150 adventure activities for people of all ages, economic backgrounds, and abilities. This area is home to some of the best rafting companies and canopy equipment in the world, among other resources. The Arenal Chamber of Tourism and Commerce has been working for over two years to promote tourism with the characteristics and advantages it has today, making it an adventure paradise”, stated Tadeo Morales, vice president of the Chamber.
There are many springs and properties in Arenal that make the area a world-famous spot for adventure sports. The Chamber reports that foreigners use these attractions more frequently. The area has been gaining interest from national tourists, Morales said.
There are currently 86 hotels and lodging platforms in the Arenal area, which comprise 11,000 beds.
